I think they wanted all the oompa loompas to be identical. They definitely seem to be trying to achieve that effect in the original movie (though it's not exact since they didn't have the tech back then.) I just wish they'd done a bit more with the costuming or makeup to make him look a little more distinct from the other characters. Might help
